Do you ever think about how you make a difference in the lives of others, or perhaps in the Kingdom of God in general? My wife and I just returned from a week at Blessing Ranch in Livermore Colorado. It was a great time of being set apart from daily life. We were able to spend time with an amazing counselor most days, twice a day. The focus of the week was to be on spiritual renewal, and anything else that "popped up!"
There were several items that kept popping up! One of the most important for me, was understanding that, attached to my calling to lead people to deeper places of worship, was my need to make a difference in the lives of people we know, serve, etc. It's something that happens every time I get to lead worship. It happens at choir rehearsals, recording sessions, and certainly when people connect to the Lord while listening to anything I have recorded. Unfortunately, it's too easy to NOT acknowledge when you are making a difference. In all of the above mentioned circumstances, I have walked away focusing on things that "didn't go right," singing that wasn't in tune, and countless other distractions! Shame on me! It took an incredible trip to Colorado, and some great reading to lead me to understand how often I make a difference, and how gratifying that is. It is so simple! Ugh, I feel robbed! Lord forgive me for not realizing how you use me everyday in the simplest ways!
I'm not going to ask if you are making a difference...you are!
