How many times do we actually get a first-day-on-the-job in our lives? Hopefully, not too many! Despite the jet lag, and the time difference, here I sit at my desk, after oatmeal, reading the Word, and a cup of coffee, at 7:30 AM. As far as I can tell I am the still the only one here. I arrived at 6:15, or for those geographically, and mathematically challenged, that would be 3:15 AM to my still-adjusting West Coast body clock! What's up with that!? I guess it's the male hunter in me; new job, must hunt! Tommy Walker is playing in the background, my favorite Worship Leader, and my new 30" iMac monitor is blinding me (too close!) but all feels good for a first day. My iPhone is connected, and all my music is already downloaded, like I said, all seems well!
The weekend was good from an attenders perspective. The Worship Leader, Daniella did a fine job. I am looking forward to working with her on some areas to help her grow in that role. The choir was smaller than I expected, no doubt due to the December crunch. The band was good, the tech teams OK, but overall not bad. It could be, and should be a whole lot better.
I have always believed change starts from the top down and from the inside out.
The journey begins.
This is the first day.
Until tomorrow,
Mickeal
